To Do List For The Marching Band
1.) Take Note Of The Schedule
January 9,2024
Dear Marching Band Families,
We are excited to announce important Marching Band 2024 information. As you are setting up classes for next year and making your summer plans, please refer to this information and calendar and make every effort to avoid scheduling over band dates.
Registration
- All those that are interested in marching band need to register for Marching Band for Fall semester 2024.
- If you’ve already had your PCCR please email your counselor and make sure you’re signed up for "Marching Band".
- All marching band members (winds, brass, percussion, and guard) need to be enrolled in this class in order to participate in marching band. This will eliminate the need for a dual enrollment class such as percussion, dance, or band.
- FYI: There will still be one other band class, two other percussion classes, and jazz band offered for students who do not want to participate in marching band. Sign up for everything you are interested.
- It is expected that you will enroll in a second semester Dance (for guard) Concert Band, Symphonic Band, or Percussion Class.
- See Calendar dates listed below. All Dates are mandatory. You must email Mr. Ryszka by May 1 with any conflicts.
- ALL show music and parade music Must be memorized BEFORE day one of Band camp, which begins August 4.
- Video check-ins required throughout the summer.
- $650
- Additional Costs include Shoes, Gloves, pictures.
- Due in Full on April 30. If paid after April 30th.
- Please email Mr. Ryszka by April 30 if this is a hardship.
- Fundraising Opportunity: Letter-Writing Campaign. More Info TBA.
- Rehearsals: August 15 thru early November: Tuesdays from 2:40-7:00 (incudes a required sectional) and Saturday Rehearsals on Competition Days
- Competition we will participate in 7 total competitions— 6 during the season, and state championships in St. George.

We are encouraging students to earn money for their fees through a virtual letter campaign. Below is a PDF of instructions. After going through that. Go to the link below and if you have questions on how to set it up let Mr. Ryszka know.

9.) Rental Instruments
Limited numbers of High School Instruments are available to be rented. These include Bari, Tenor, Alto saxophones, bass clarinet, trombone, Baritone, F Horn, Clarinet, Oboe, The cost per year is $100 to rent. This is a fraction of the cost to help maintain them. WE are also including this rental cost for all percussion. This is to provide you with proper sticks and mallets as well as making sure all the HS instruments are maintained for your use. Please fill out the below form once you receive your school instrument.
